GalaxyArt is proud to launch a brand-new exhibition entitled “5 a.m.” ! It showcases a collection of more than 40 pieces of (oil painting) works created between the late 1990s and 2020s in the city of Macao by Macao local artist Yuen Wai-Ip, where the artist lived and witnessed this vibrant society, transforming his observations and perspectives into forms of art that reflect the situations he experienced.
Yuen works with contemporary themes. His works represent the inner souls of Macao residents living in historical times yet undergoing a modern city’s rapid development. He goes on to open up our imagination about the interactions of people, cities and societies.
There are stories in each of his works, and as you wander from room to room you will notice different emotions and energies. You may find the stories to be familiar, or you may not, as each artwork will evoke different imaginings and meanings in the eyes of different viewers, according to the individual experiences they bring to the work.
The exhibition is on from 27 September until 5 February next year. Admission is free and visitors of all ages are welcome! With no advance booking required, the public guided tour is also available!
